Purpose:Camp Sparkle is a free, summer day camp for kids and teens who have been impacted by cancer – either from a personal diagnosis or that of a loved one.
When Camp Sparkle happens, there are up to 25 campers who will be visiting with the dogs. We handlers take a second leash so the camper can “walk the dog” in the park while we have the primary leash in our hand. Having our dogs visit on the 1st day of Camp, sets a great expectation of activities for the remainder of their camping week.
It’s a super fun week of activities that lets kids be kids.
Reading With Rover teams will share our dogs and spend a fun afternoon together with campers.
